licensed-tx republishes Texas occupational-licensing records that are already public. This policy explains what we publish, the limited data we collect from visitors, and how to control your information.

Information we publish

The contractor records on licensed-tx come from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) “All Licenses” dataset, which the State of Texas publishes as an open public record. These records include the licensee’s name, business name, license number, license type, license status, expiration date, and county. We do not create this information — we mirror what TDLR already makes public, and we link back to the original record.

Information we collect from visitors

  • Usage analytics — aggregate, privacy-respecting measurements of which pages are viewed, so we can improve the site. We do not sell this data.
  • Contact information — only if you email us or submit a request, in which case we use it to respond.
  • Payment information — if you purchase a paid feature, payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum and do not use third-party advertising trackers. Any cookies set are used for basic functionality and aggregate analytics.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors to operate the site:

  • Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.
  • Supabase — database hosting for the license records.
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid features.
  • An email provider — to deliver transactional messages you request.

Your choices

Because the license records are public, we cannot alter the underlying TDLR data. We can, however, suppress an individual’s listing from licensed-tx on request. See our listing removal page. You may also contact us to access or correct any contact information you have shared with us directly.

Data retention & security

We retain license records for as long as they are part of the public TDLR dataset, plus a short archival window. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect the limited personal data we hold, though no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Children

licensed-tx is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy and will revise the date above when we do. Questions? Email hello@licensedtx.com.
