Disciplinary records
We publish TDLR Administrative Orders — disciplinary actions such as penalties, suspensions, and revocations — on a contractor's profile, next to their license.
- Sourced from TDLR's public Administrative Orders search, refreshed weekly.
- Shown only when an order matches a contractor's exact license number and trade — we never attribute an order we cannot place with certainty.
- Published verbatim from the state order, with its order number and a link to verify. We do not summarize or characterize findings.
- Limited to the last five years. An order TDLR stops publishing is removed here.
What we don't cover yet
- Plumbing — regulated by a separate board (TSBPE) with no open data feed.
- Permit history — planned for a future release.
- Out-of-state licensees — shown on their profiles, but excluded from county totals.
How we keep it accurate
- Every row is validated against a typed contract on each sync; rows that fail are quarantined, not published.
- Volume-drift thresholds (10% overall, 15% per trade) flag anomalous syncs for review before they reach the live site.
- Raw source snapshots are retained for 90 days in an append-only Bronze layer, so any published value can be traced back to the exact TDLR payload it came from.
- Each nightly sync is a full reconciliation against TDLR, so removed or reinstated licenses are reflected within a day.
Takedown policy
These are public records, republishable under Texas law. A licensee who wants their record removed from licensed-tx can request an opt-out.
